Welcome to eirrann.art!

For those times when I want to share content that is less ephemeral than social media, such as details about the process behind my work or updates on projects and my life as an artist, this is the place to be.

I first started working on a website for Claire Silver's fourth AI art contest. Sadly, I tried doing it the hard way: custom coded with the help of GPT4. While I made tremendous progress on getting a basic website put together that looked almost identical to this, the complexity of working in VS Code for me, a no-code beginner, eventually became overwhelming.

Using Google Sites, I have now recreated the custom website's aesthetic while also advancing much further, an example of which is this updates page, which I was unable to implement successfully. I had no idea that Blogger still existed, and it was unbelievable easy to integrate with Google Sites.

I'll be using this updates page to document my journey as an artist, having only gained the confidence to call myself one early this year. I'm excited that you are here and hope you enjoy getting a slightly deeper glimpse into who I am, within the confines of anonymity, as well as my art.

I'll leave you with this image, my most recent listed work. Titled 'Gutenberg's AI Scriptorium', it is part of Strange History on Foundation, a World unearthed from the depths of the historical record and curated to interpret history through the lens of each artist’s imagination.

In it, I explore an alternate timeline where Johannes Gutenberg's revolutionary invention transcends mere text replication. This work of AI-generated documentary photography captures a glimpse of a more enlightened transition within Gutenberg's lifetime from the Late Middle Ages to the Early Modern period, after his development of the printing press took a radical turn.

Rather than just mechanizing the process of copying text, Gutenberg invented a vastly more sophisticated AI-powered machine, accelerating the intellectual evolution of humanity by centuries. We see 15th-century scholars using AI tools that we can only dream of today to create a future beyond imagination.

This artwork seeks to change the past and imagine the future, presenting a unique perspective on Gutenberg's invention and its impact on our world.

If you've read this far, thank you for coming along with me on this long-form journey. I look forward to seeing you here again soon.
